How to get Month & Year from the date column using DAX Measure

Hello @tamerj1 ,

I have a date column named 'sys created on'. I want to get the Month & Year from this date column using DAX Measure. And put it in a sequence of last 12 months instead of alphabetical order or January to December.

The output should be in format 'Jan-23'.

I can achieve this by writing a DAX in calculated column

Month_year = CONCATENATE(FORMAT(Incidents[sys_created_on].[Date],"mmm"),CONCATENATE("-",(FORMAT(Incidents[sys_created_on].[Date],"YY"))))

However, I dont have an option to create a calculated column and can only write measure. Can you tell me how can we write a DAX measure to achieve the same result.

Thanks in advance.

Month_year =
FORMAT ( MAX ( Incidents[sys_created_on] ), "mmm-yy" )

Thanks @tamerj1 for your quick response. I tried the DAX suggested by you. However, it does not dispay anything.

Please see the below snapshot.
