Hello.
I have some data that looks like this:
I would like to calculate totals for each month. How do I do this?
Hi @Anonymous ,
The very first step is to create a date table. You can find many resources on the Internet to help you with this task. Once your date table created, you will probably have a "Month" column. Finally you will be able to aggregate your data by month.
If I answered your question, please mark my post as a solution.
Best,
Hello,
I have made a date table. I am sorry, what do you mean by 'aggregate your data by month'?
Many Thanks
You can create a visual in the form of a simple table or bar chart, with months as the dimension and sum of sales as the measure. Or the number of groups, or the average discount, etc. From what I can see your data seems to be at the level of a day. You need to aggregate your data to see it at a monthly level. Aggregating data means using an aggregation function such as sum, minimum, maximum, number, average, etc
Thank you - is it possible to create something that would do the following:
1. calculate the total of the monthly (let's say sign ups) from this list
2. connect this total of sign ups per month to another data set that also has monthly sign ups per month but is old data (from previous)
Essentially I have two data sets which are talking about the same thing, sign ups. But one already has sign-ups per month and the other has sign-ups recorded as single items.
Any help would be appreciated 🙂
