Hi, Dears, I have a detailed sales detailed data for a period, say latest 13 month from Aug.01, 2019 to Aug.31,2020. Now I need to calculate the following data:
(1) Last month's MTD sales amount by day
(2) the previous 12 months (before last month) average average MTD sales amount by day.
And I need to put them in one chart for comparasion. like this:
For last month, it is easy, I have finished it by set up a calendar and used TOTALMTD function.
The problem is how to calculate the previous 12 months' average MTD?
I'm thinking that I could calculate each month' MTD, Say, I can calculate the MTD sales amount for Jul2020, Jun2020... and then calculate it.
Yet, I didn't find a way to calculate MTD for a specific month. May I have your help on this? Thanks a lot.

@Anonymous , with datesmtd and time intelligence
MTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESMTD('Date'[Date]))
last MTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESMTD(dateadd('Date'[Date],-1,MONTH)))
last year MTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESMTD(dateadd('Date'[Date],-12,MONTH)))
diff = [MTD Sales]-[last MTD Sales]
diff % = divide([MTD Sales]-[last MTD Sales],[last MTD Sales])

If you view by month MTD might work. Refer to how YTD is forcefully controlled in this

To get the best of the time intelligence function. Make sure you have a date calendar and it has been marked as the date in model view. Also, join it with the date column of your fact/s. Refer :
