We have a list of 40 team members, each month I am wanting to pair all the people in the list up (coffee roulette) and I don't want any duplicates in subseqent pairings. People may be added and removed month to month.
I have been searching Google, this community, trying Chat GPT but so far have not gotten close to how it could be done.
Any ideas?
Sounds like a standard cross join with a couple excepts thrown in.

Hi @lbendlin , Thanks for your response. I should have clarified further. At the moment I have 2 Smartsheets, 1 which has the list of names and the other which has the pairings that have already occurred (not sure if I need the second sheet).
Sheet 1 is called Members and just has the names -
Bob Jones |
Cathy Smith |
Lisa Simpson |
Sarah Turner |
Scott Swift |
Mark Jones |
Tim Kitchen |
Peter Robins |
Francis Banks |
Amy Ocean |
* fake names 🙂
Sheet 2 is called Matchings and has previous pairings -
Bob Jones | Cathy Smith |
Lisa Simpson | Sarah Turner |
Scott Swift | Mark Jones |
Tim Kitchen | Peter Robins |
Francis Banks | Amy Ocean |
I want to be able to generate new pairings taking into account previous pairings so there are no duplicates.
