Excel and Dax

Hi Guys,

Just got in here.

Wondering when calculated colaums can be generated,why dax formulae and measures are required.

In Excel you can do one of two things  - you can either run a DAX query that returns a table  (and in that table everything is a column)  or you can create a data source via Power Query where you can modify the original source by adding columns. 

 

Measures are not something you do in Excel.  That's what you have your cell formulas for.
