Date Hierarchy/Dax Function

Hi Everyone,
I have a date column in table A called Transaction Date, when I'm working on Table B ( I have already stated the relationship between both tables by customer number), and I try to write a DAX function regarding this column, I don't get [Transaction Date].[Year] or similar.
I have checked the query editor and the column is a date column, so no issue in that.
Also the transaction date is connected to the calendar table.
Any thoughts?
Thank you

@Anonymous , try

year(related(Table1[Transaction Date]))

or

year(maxx(relatedtable(Table1),Table1[Transaction Date]) )

refer 4 ways to copy data from one table to another
