Hi,
i'm using the Contoso Dataset to try different DAX commands and I'm stuck at the first example.
In this tutorial - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/transform-model/desktop-quickstart-learn-dax-basics, I follow all 10 steps but the Created Column `Previous Quarter sales` is always blank.
What am I missing?
thanks,
raul
@raul_pavel you should select a date range that has a quarter immediately preceding it in the dataset.
For example, try selecting 2018.
In your screenshot, with Year unfiltered and Quarter 1 selected, PREVIOUSQUARTER shifts the dates to the quarter immediately preceding the earliest date in the filter context, i.e. Q4 of 2004, which is a date range that doesn't exist in the dataset.
Hello Owen,
Thanks for the reply.
It seems that the only years with data for Previous Quartes Sales are 2012-2014. All other years returns a blank column. It would be weird though to left such a thing unmentioned in a tutorial.
Hello Jihwan_Kim,
Thanks for yor reply.
Even with all the years selected, the column remains blank.
hI, @raul_pavel
Please correct me if I wrongly understood your question.
I am not sure about how you wrote your measure, but when I see your screenshot, it looks like the year is not selected in the slicer.
