Hi I am trying to work out how to use a filter in a measure using DAX & I am going round in circles.
I have a table that contains : ISSUE TYPE NVA_UNITS and a few other columns
I want to create a measure that will SUM the NVA_UNITS column (this is a Float data type)
the measure must also filter the sum so that it only returns the data with ISSUE TYPE "Qualität" ISSUE TYPE is data type varchar(50)
I have a Direct connection to an SQL database I want to create a measure that will return just the values that are issue type Qualität & SUM the number of UNITS affected. so far I have tried many queries and i've just not got the knowledge
I expect its a simple thing - I just need to find out how.
heres the code I tried last
NUMBER OF DEFECTIVE UNITS = SUMX( FILTER (WFT_DATA,'wft_data'[Issue_type] =[Issue_type]'Qualität'),(WFT_DATA[NVA_UNITS]))
I get the syntax is incorrect Hoping someone can help

Hi @JonArnold
Perhaps something like this?
NUMBER OF DEFECTIVE UNITS =
SUMX (
FILTER ( WFT_DATA, WFT_DATA[Issue_type] = "Qualität" ),
WFT_DATA[NVA_UNITS]
)
