Running totals (totalytd, totalqtd,totalmtd) cannot be seen individually in cards. Rather they show when the current context includes a month/year/date in the visual.
TOTALYTD → Aggregates from start of year.
TOTALMTD → Aggregates from start of month.
Both respect your date filter context — so if you select April only, TOTALYTD will give Jan→Apr, while TOTALMTD will give Apr only.
⚡️Cheat Code to Remember:
YTD = Big picture (whole year).
MTD = Zoomed in (current month).

Hi @Sania-F ,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
You are correct, TOTALYTD, TOTALQTD, and TOTALMTD only return values when a date context (month/quarter/year) exists in the visual. A Card has no date context, so the result appears blank.
If you want to see the latest YTD, QTD, or MTD values directly in cards, you can adjust your measures to always calculate up to the last date in your Date table:
Revenue Total YTD (Card) =
CALCULATE (
TOTALYTD ( [Revenue], 'Date'[Date], "6-30" ),
FILTER ( ALL ( 'Date' ), 'Date'[Date] <= MAX ( 'Date'[Date] ) )
)
Similar logic applies for QTD and MTD. This way, the cards will always show the most recent cumulative totals, even without month/year context in the visual.
Thank you.
