Can't preserve color on bookmarks buttons

The steps provided here, dont seem to work for me:

Change Button Color in Bookmarks - Microsoft Fabric Community

I simply want 2 buttons

US  - CANADA.

When I click US, it should be FILL with green and the filter on US, likewise for CANADA... I can't seem to make it work

This does not work for me:

let's say you have 3 buttons and on each bookmark you want to change the individual button color.

Step1: Select Button 1 and change the color to let's say green and keep the color of remaining button to grey. And create and save the bookmark.

Step2: now, select button 2 and change the color to green and keep the button 1 and 3 to grey and create and save the bookmark.

Step3: likewise, do the rest of your button.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you:

Create Buttons:

Create two buttons, one for "US" and one for "CANADA."
Set Up Bookmarks:

Create a bookmark for each button state. For example, create a bookmark named "US Selected" where the "US" button is green and the "CANADA" button is grey. Similarly, create a bookmark named "CANADA Selected" where the "CANADA" button is green and the "US" button is grey.
Apply Filters:

While creating each bookmark, apply the corresponding filter. For the "US Selected" bookmark, apply the filter for US data. For the "CANADA Selected" bookmark, apply the filter for Canada data.
Update Bookmarks:

Make sure to update the bookmarks after setting the button colors and filters. To update a bookmark, select the bookmark, make the necessary changes (button color and filter), and then right-click the bookmark and select "Update."
Assign Bookmarks to Buttons:

Assign the "US Selected" bookmark to the "US" button and the "CANADA Selected" bookmark to the "CANADA" button. This can be done by selecting the button, going to the "Action" pane, and setting the action to "Bookmark" and choosing the appropriate bookmark.
Test the Buttons:

Test the buttons to ensure that clicking "US" changes its color to green and applies the US filter, and clicking "CANADA" changes its color to green and applies the Canada filter.
If these steps still don't work, you might want to try using the Selection Pane to hide and show different versions of the buttons based on the selected bookmark. This method involves creating multiple versions of the buttons and using the Selection Pane to control their visibility.
