Bulk text replace in a Column

HI everyone,

I have a Project name column in my table, this project names came from my Azure Tags, we did a cleanup on it to standarize the names, so now i need to replace the old names by the new standard names.

I have a excel file with two columns, Old Name and New Name (each for row)

There is anyway to use this excel file to replace the text in my project name column? like get the old and replace to the new?

I tried to use a SWITCH to do that, but it is too heavy, because i need to create one SWITCH line for each project and i have like 1k project to change.

You can use the Merge Query option in Power Query. It would be quicker and simple to implement.

You can simply merge two queires or using lookuovalue you can create new column for new names.

One more way is..add relationship on two table and create new column.

Thanks,
Pravin

I would look at importing the new table and then creating a new column in the original table that uses LOOKUPVALUE.
