I have a report that uses both direct query and import mode for different data sources. The dax calculations in the report were working fine until recently, where I started getting the error: "The column 'Table'[Col] cannot be pushed to the remote data source and cannot be used in this scenario."
After looking into it I see that a possible cause is that some DAX functions are not supported if the data source is connected via direct query (not sure why it was working previously though). I have been able to fix these errors for some calculated columns by using alternative functions to the ones that are not supported. However, I have many calculated columns that have this issue and am struggling to think of an alternative method for all these columns.
I see that there used to be an "Allow unrestricted measures in DirectQuery mode" option in settings but this has now not available. Is there an alternative way that will allow these restricted DAX functions to be used, or is the only way to prevent this error is to not use restricted functions?
Thanks
