Add conditional formatting with Matrix based visuals

As per docuementation (blow) Add conditional formatting we cant add conditional formatting with Matrix based visual, can someone please udpaet whats the alternative here.

Considerations and limitations

Conditional formatting isn't supported for the following visuals:

    Table based visuals

    Matrix based visuals

We recommend that you don’t use conditional formatting with series. Instead, you should allow customers to format each series individually, making it easy to visually distinguish between series. Most out-of-the-box visuals with series, share this approach.

I am tring to get custom color for each element (below), i works fine with categorical dataset but is there anyway to achieve same with Matrix data mapping

you should allow customers to format each series individually, making it easy to visually distinguish between series

Translation: they don't want to do it.
