Show Data problems from chart - missing column headers and decimal places
I have a chart with values stored to 2 decimal places. I am running a bar chart across the data by month. When I use Show Data the matrix shows as follows:
As you can see, the column title is missing and data has a ludricous amount of decimal places after the decimal point. When I convert the same visual to a matrix (i.e. change the bar chart to a matrix) it is fine as follows:
This is only happening in the cloud version, in PBI Desktop it all works as expected. This has only started occuring last week to an existing chart that was in production and fine for severla months. I have checked simialr charts and they are all exhibiting the same issue.
Any help appreciated, thanks.
Mark

MarkHoward,
I am unable to reproduce this issue in Power BI Desktop September release version. Do you set decimal places under Modeling ribbon in Power BI Desktop? Do you use latest version of Power BI Desktop? You can test my PBIX file in your Power BI Service and check if the issue still persists.

Thanks Lydia for your speedy response. Yes, it's fine in PowerBI Desktop (we have August edition currently. Once it is poublished to the cloud is where the problem occurs. The data is already to 2 decimal places in the source data which is curious as we are reporting over a data mart where the data has been prepared/transformed from the source. So it's a PBI cloud issue, any ideas. Some productoin reports that were already in the cloud and were working fine last month have the same issue.

MarkHoward,
I test the issue in Power BI Service and unable to reproduce it. Kindly share me your PBIX file. Do you still get the issue when using my PBIX file?

Hi Lydia
Yes, this works fine with your PBIX in the cloud service, not sure why ours is not working. I'll share this infor with my developer to work out what the difference is. I'll connect to the data via Excel and do some more analysis also.
Thanks
Mark

The difference is Lydia's is modelled within PBI wheras your source is coming from SSAS and therefore the formatting is determined in SSAS. For some reason this doesnt seem to be flowing through to the cloud service including the header issues.
This has been logged and accepted as an issue in a few places.
