Error: 'Couldn't load the model schema' message Due to Malawarebytes

For anyone facing this error: Error disappears if Malawarebytes is unloaded (exited). Potential similar issue with Defender or other antivirals

    Hi safadig,

     

    From your description, you are not able to start Power BI desktop if the machine has Malawarebytes installed, right? 

     

    As you turn off the Malawarebytes then the error disappears, the Power BI desktop process may be blocked by this antivirus software. You can try to use ProcessMonitor to find which process is blocked. Then try to whitelist this process in Malawarebytes.

    Unfortunately, Could not find a block. Neither could I find a report of quarentine from Malwarbytes. Exculding Power BI and WindowsApp Folders from Malwarbyte also did not eliminate the error.

     

    Only unloading malwarbytes fixes the issue..May wararnt some internal testing at Microsoft!
