1. What operation is the error occurring while doing? Has the same error been reported before?

2. What is the connected data source? What kind of connection method is used?

3. Has anyone else had the same problem?

Hello, I have the same error.  DAX measure functionality was working fine 4 weeks ago and now I'm unable to see the DAX window at all.  Would someone please resolve this break/fix immediately???  It is impeding development work and project delivery timelines.  It is unfortunate that updates that have not been fully tested are pushed out to be dealt with by the user community.

Exactly same behaviour in Power BI Desktop November, and connected to a SSAS Model. Impossible to see the formulas for existing measures or new.

If you turn off the Preview Feature for the DAX query view then the error (for me at least) goes away. 

JonBaylis : Correct, the error now dissappear but the formula bar is not shown. To further check I have disabled all preview features with the same result. Also creating a new report from scratch and live connect to a SSAS model gives the same outcome, no formula bar on a new measure.

Just needs to be fixed ASAP.  In future I might start waiting for 2-3 weeks after the intitial monthly release before installing.
