Visual Studio Code (VS Code) has an extension for Power Query M Language. Please updated Power BI Desktop so when I click on Advanced Editor button it will pop up VS Code to edit the M code.

- Great idea. I’m constantly writing M in VSCode and then pasting it into the advanced editor of PBI or Excel.
- This would be amazing. It should be seamless thus no need to keep copying and pasting.
It's a dream.
For me, doesn't even need to be a full-scale integration. I rather envisage it as a Venn diagram of Advanced Editor features and Visual Code features, with the circles for each moving ever closer over time :-)
