remove visual from Visualizations

Hi All,

Is it possible to remove a visual from the Visualizations which is there by default in Desktop version?

I am working with Power BI Rs and we would like to understand if this is possible or not...are the visuals stored as a file on the C drive and can be deleted?

Thank you for the help in advance!

  • Hi,

Thank you very much for the feedback, this is very useful:).

However we were thinking if there is a centralized way to do it, not made by users by their own but someone from IT department can do it for everyone (maybe to delete a file in case if visuals are stored as a file). Is there any solution for that?

    Thanks again:)

    Regards,

    Kata

  • Hi kata ,

The default visuals about powerbi desktop are stored in the pbix file, and after unpacking we can see information like data model, connection method, layout, etc. The layout file contains all the information related to the layout of the report. This is essentially where the reports, and visual objects and all their related properties are stored.

Deleting the default visuals does not reduce the size of the stored files.

    Is this you are looking

    - Right click on default visual

    - Click UnPin this Visual

    - The default visual will be removed from this file

    - This behaviour will be stored with your profile and whenever you will open the PBI desktop the visual will be hidden unless you restore the default visuals.
