PBI Metrics shutting down occasionally
A colleague of mine experiences a bug in the usage of Metrics. When he tries to do a new check-in Power BI suddenly shuts down. We tried to capture this in the video below. Is this something you are familiar with? Is there a solution for this problem?

Hi Carline,
Since it only happens for your colleague, I would first narrow down whether it is the user, the metric, or the check-in content. A quick matrix you can run in 10 minutes:
Test If it works -> ---------------------------------------------- ----------------------------- Colleague, InPrivate window, no extensions browser profile / extension You, same metric, same check-in values colleague-specific permission Colleague, a different (manual) metric that metric is the problem Colleague, same metric, check-in with no note the note content (pasted formatting/images) is the trigger Colleague, check-in dated today (not past/future) date handling on that metricTwo things I have seen cause odd behaviour on check-ins specifically: connected metrics (the value comes from a report, so a manual check-in competes with the connection; try updating via the connected value or disconnecting in a copy) and notes pasted from Outlook/Word with rich formatting. Also confirm in the scorecard's Permissions which role your colleague has for that metric (view vs update check-ins).
If none of these isolate it, capture a HAR trace from DevTools (Network tab > Preserve log > reproduce > Export HAR) during the crash and attach it with the video to the support ticket, since the failing request will show exactly which call breaks.
So my overall approach would be:
InPrivate test -> other user test -> other metric test -> check-in without note / with today's date -> check role permissions on that metric -> HAR + video to support if still failingAI-assisted drafting: AI was used to help structure and phrase this response. I reviewed and validated the technical content before posting.

HI Carline,
Please test the check-in in another browser and verify whether the issue affects one scorecard or multiple scorecards. Check Power BI service health for any relevant incidents. If the issue persists, capture browser Network traces and Console logs while reproducing the failure, along with the screen recording. If unresolved, raise a Microsoft support request with the diagnostic information for further investigation.
