Data refresh error

In the September 2025 version, during data refresh, multiple reports randomly reported errors similar to the following: SessionID: fb9f202c-e4cf-4504-b604-0f52f95b86ab
[0] 0: Couldn't find database: c010c00b-e2f9-4607-be5e-4f7b90d32f86_934030742 in AS server

  • Hi WithwindOK ,

Please try the troubleshooting steps, which i was suggested in my previous response. In addition to that, Colud you please try the below steps to fix the issue.

    1. Please check the RSPortal, RSService, and AS logs at the time of the failure. check for memory pressure, timeouts, or model loading errors.

    2. Check the server hosting PBIRS has sufficient RAM and CPU. Increase the MaxMemoryLimit setting in RSHostingService.config.

    3. If multiple reports are refreshing simultaneously, try to refresh one by one report to reduce load.

    4. Use the latest PBIRS version. Sometimes bugs in older versions cause intermittent issues.

    5. Large models may fail to load under constrained resources. remove unused columns and aggregate the data.

    6. Re-upload the affected reports to PBIRS. Validate that the model loads correctly in PBIRS after upload.

I hope this information helps. Please do let us know if you have any further queries.

    Regards,

    Dinesh

  • Hi WithwindOK

Can you share screenshots of the error?

Is this error happening in desktop, or only once you upload it to report server?

    What are your data sources?

If you found this helpful, consider giving some Kudos. If I answered your question or solved your problem, mark this post as the solution.

      Hi WithwindOK ,

Thank you for the update.  The error message "Couldn't find database: <GUID>_<number> in AS server",
refers that during the data refresh process on Power BI Report Server, the server is unable to locate the Analysis Services database associated with the report model.

Please check below things to fix the issue.

      1. Please check the RSPortal.log and RSHostingService.log files for more detailed error traces around the time of failure.

      2. Use Performance Monitor or Task Manager to check memory and CPU usage during refresh times.

      3. Avoid concurrent refreshes by scheduling reports at different times.

      4. Check this issue in the September 2025 release notes or forums. If it's a confirmed bug, consider rolling back to a stable version.

I hope this information helps. Please do let us know if you have any further queries.

      Regards,

      Dinesh

This error only occurs when uploading to PBIRS; refreshing in Desktop works fine. The data source is Oracle Database 19c, and a manual refresh can complete successfully.
