Configure Data Gateway to Hosted Environment

Has anyone setup a data gateway with a hosted environment with an oracle database?  Were their any issues that you encounted during the setup? Afterwards were you successfully able to import the data into a dataset and onto a dashboard, etc.?

    Hi duncant-wssu ,

For install the gateway, you need meet the minimum requirements and limitations:
    Minimum requirements:

    • .NET Framework 4.7.2 (Gateway release December 2020 and earlier)
    • .NET Framework 4.8 (Gateway release February 2021 and later)
    • A 64-bit version of Windows 8 or a 64-bit version of Windows Server 2012 R2 with current TLS 1.2 and cipher suites
    • 4-GB disk space for performance monitoring logs (in default configuration)

    Limitations:

    • Gateways aren't supported on Server Core installations.
    • Gateways aren't supported on Windows containers.
    • The user installing the gateway must be the admin of the gateway.

  • There shouldn't be any issues with having a gateway running on a hosted environment as long as everything is setup and configured correctly. You will obviously need to setup the gateway on one of the servers in the hosted environment. I would discuss it with the vendor to make sure they are aware and on the same page.
