Scheduled refresh privacy level errors.

Hello,

Scheduled refresh gives error:

Data source error{"error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_MashupDataAccessError","pbi.error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_MashupDataAccessError","parameters":{},"details":[{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingErrorCode","detail":{"type":1,"value":"-2147467259"}},{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingErrorMessage","detail":{"type":1,"value":"[Unable to combine data] Section1/Server/Removed Columns is accessing data sources that have privacy levels which cannot be used together. Please rebuild this data combination."}},{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingHResult","detail":{"type":1,"value":"-2147467259"}},{"code":"Microsoft.Data.Mashup.MashupSecurityException.DataSources","detail":{"type":1,"value":"[{\"kind\":\"File\",\"path\":\"X:\\\\T1\\\\Reports Daily\\u0026Weekly\\\\Working Time\\\\Report.xlsm\"},{\"kind\":\"Web\",\"path\":\"https://user.xxx.xxx/api/v2/times?start=2020-06-28\\u0026end=2020-06-30\"}]"}},{"code":"Microsoft.Data.Mashup.MashupSecurityException.Reason","detail":{"type":1,"value":"PrivacyError"}}],"exceptionCulprit":1}}} Table: ActualTimeRegister.

I have tried to set privacy levels in data source settings to None, or organizational, doesn't matter same problem. Also in options under privacy tried "Ignore the Privacy Levels and potentially improve performance". Still the same.

I'm using personal gateway ( can't use on premises gateway ) and I read somewhere that Ignoring privacy levels should cause this error to go away. However, ignoring locally in PBIDesktop won't affect the service. You'll have to ignore the privacy levels via the Personal Gateway, which is not necessarily a straightforward task.

Can anyone explain how I could ignore the privacy levels via personal gateway? Google was not very helpful.

This error is caused by  the privacy-level restrictions and the types of data sources you're using. You can try rebuild this data combination.

1.Duplicate the Existing Query, enter Query Editor, delete the other data query code, renamed the new query to "Duplicate query".

2.Modify the Existing Query, change the first several lines to the "Source = Duplicate query".

Hey Paul, your link is a 404 and the underlying concept does not really help.

Why does this problem even exist, can Microsoft please offer a way to switch that off? Cost me countless hours.

    thanks,

    Markus
