Microsoft 365 Usage analytics Dataset refresh issue

Hi,

One of our global admin is trying to refresh/use the Microsoft 365 Usage analytics report in PBI Service for the first time.

For dataset settings, he chooses his windows account, authentication mode as OAUTH2 and privacy as private.

Dataset refresh fails with error as below. Can you please advise what would be the fix?

“OData: A supported MIME type could not be found that matches the content type of the response. None of the supported type(s) 'application/json;odata.metadata=minimal;odata.streaming=true;IEEE754Compatible=false, application/json;odata.metadata=minimal;odata.streaming=true;IEEE754Compatible=true, application/json;odata.metadata=minimal;odata.streaming=true,

….”

    Anonymous, collinq , Thanks for your responses.

    It turned out that hyphens in the tenant id was the rootcause.

    Entering tenant id without hyphens resolved the issue.

    collinq, We didn't even try to use this report in PBI Desktop mode.

    Since its a standard content, we thought we can just start using it in Service directly [ Just like Usage metrics]. Is it not the case?

      Hi meenakp ,

       

      You can start in Service alone so if that is what you did, then my train of thought will not be pertinent.  Did the link from Anonymous  help you?
