Gateway setup on cloud

I would like to set up a Data Gateway on a server since I don't have a computer that would be connected 24/7.

On Azure I set up an instance of the "On-premises Data Gateway" product, but it only lists Logic apps under "Services for this gateway." Does this mean this product does not support PowerBI?

If so, do I have to set up a VM running a version of Windows Server then install the Data Gateway?

Note: I've already read through many of the docs and forum posts this is still unclear to me.

  • Hi there

In order to run the On-Premise Data Gateway, it has to be installed on a PC or Server.

So you will first have to run a VM with Windows Server and then install the Gateway.

      GilbertQ Thanks for the response.

What is the "On-premises Data Gateway" Azure product then?

        Hi there

That is a way where you can connect Logic Apps to your on-prem data sources via the On-Premise Data Gateway"

The On-Premise Data Gateway still needs to be installed and configured as per the steps above.
