Teams Callqueue data, how to get the data
Hi wim1981 ,
This is a very common situation with that specific template. Since you are opening a .pbit (Power BI Template) file, it is completely empty by design until it successfully connects to your tenant's data stream.
For the Teams Auto Attendant & Call Queue (V3.x) reports to work, simply opening the file isn't enough. You need to ensure three specific prerequisites are met on your machine and tenant.
1. The Custom Connector (Crucial Step) This report relies on a specialized connector called MicrosoftCallQuality.mez. It does not come built-in with Power BI Desktop.
Check: Go to your Documents\Power BI Desktop\Custom Connectors folder.
Action: If that folder is empty or doesn't exist, you need to download the connector from the Microsoft Download Center (where you got the template) and place the .mez file there.
Restart: After placing the file, restart Power BI Desktop. You might need to enable "Allow any extension to load without validation" in File > Options > Security > Data Extensions.
2. The Permissions Even with the connector, your user account needs specific permissions to pull this data. You typically need to be assigned one of these roles in M365:
Teams Communications Support Specialist
Teams Communications Support Engineer
Global Reader (sometimes insufficient for granular data)
3. Data Latency If you just set up the Call Queues today, note that CQD data usually has a slight delay (24-48 hours) before it populates in the historical reports.
Summary: Make sure the .mez file is in your Documents folder and that you are logged in with a user who has Teams Admin rights. When you open the template again, it should ask you to sign in and then start loading the data.
Hope this gets your data flowing!

Sounds good wim1981 !
Take your time to go through the steps. The missing .mez file is almost always the culprit in this scenario, so I am confident that will get you connected.
Let us know how it goes once you test it!

Hi burakkaragoz .
I don't see the folder Power BI Desktop\Custom Connectors in Documents.
Also when i open the template and i go into the query builder, i can get all the data from Callqueues. But when i clikc close and use, the parts where the data supose to be shown in the main screen don't show any data. How do i populate it via the data pane on the right?

Hi wim1981 ,
That is actually great news!
If you can see rows of data inside the "Query Builder" (Power Query Editor), it means the connector is working and your permissions are correct. You can ignore the folder issue for now since the connection is already successful.
Why are the visuals empty? Since this is a Template (.pbit), the visuals are already pre-built. You usually do not need to drag fields from the right pane. If the visuals are blank (showing empty charts), it is almost certainly a Filtering Issue, specifically with Dates.
Please check these 2 things:
1. The Date Slicer (Most Likely) Teams CQD data is not real-time; it typically has a 24-48 hour delay.
Look for the Date Range slicer on the report page.
If it is set to "Last 1 Day" or "Today", the report will be blank because the data hasn't arrived yet.
Fix: Change the date slider to look at Last 30 Days or pick a date range from last week. The visuals should instantly pop up!
2. The "Refresh" Button Sometimes Power Query sees the preview, but the Report Model hasn't loaded it yet.
Click the Refresh button in the Home ribbon one more time to force the data from the query editor into the visuals.
Regarding the Folder: If you ever need to find it manually in the future, you have to create it yourself. Windows doesn't create it by default. You would manually create a folder named Custom Connectors inside Documents\Power BI Desktop. But again, since your data is loading, you are good to go!
Try adjusting that Date Slicer and let me know if the charts appear!
