The accepted "Manage Users" permission fix works because OAuth handshake with Power BI's Connected App requires the user's profile to allow approving connected apps - a permission tied to user/admin management. Without it, the browser auth flow fails silently with the misleading "browser not supported" error.
If your Salesforce admin won't grant "Manage Users" permission to all end users (it's a high-trust permission), Power BI Connector for Salesforce on AppExchange is one alternative:
Why it might fit:
- Avoids the browser-based OAuth handshake that triggers the Manage Users permission requirement - admin approves the app once at install, then end users access it through standard profile/permission set assignment
- No 2,000-row limit - pulls full Salesforce reports as-is
- Supports custom fields, custom objects, and joined reports
- 30-day free trial
