Map Issue

Hi All
Pls suggest me how can we use our own map(traffic related) in powerbi

  • Hi hebbal_arun  - Power BI does not natively support WMS integration, but there are ways to display WMS layers on Power BI maps using custom visuals or external services.

ArcGIS Maps for Power BI supports adding custom map layers, and although it does not directly support WMS, it allows for integrating custom map services through Esri's ArcGIS Online.

Convert WMS data to GeoJSON format: Use a GIS tool like QGIS or ArcGIS to query your WMS service and export the data as GeoJSON.Upload the GeoJSON file into Power BI and use the Shape Map visual to visualize the map.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi hebbal_arun  -  You can integrate custom maps using various methods, depending on the format and type of your map.

    mapshaper

TopoJSON shape map in Power BI - YouTube

Get Started with ArcGIS for Power BI

Convert your map to TopoJSON format if it's not already in that format. You can use tools like Mapshaper to convert GeoJSON or shapefiles to TopoJSON.In Power BI, enable the Shape Map visual (File > Options > Preview Features > Shape Map Visual).Import the Shape Map visual to your report.Load your TopoJSON file into the Shape Map visual (from the Visualizations pane).Bind your data to the map by linking geographical keys (e.g., regions, streets, or zones).
