Import from Excel Errors

Hi

I'm experiencing some errors when I tried to import data from an excel which contains Power Pivot model and some measures, the table I'm having issue with is about 20,000 lines, with 6 columns. I'm unable to tell what cause this error

 

Does anyone have idea about it? Is it because the size exceed the limit?

    Hi, Anonymous ,

     

    The Power Pivot model I have imported is not too big.

    I tried to import an excel with 30k rows, but which is also not too big, because I can't find a big data.

    I import the excel successfully.

     

    But I find a feature in Power BI Desktop (File -> Options and Setting -> Options):

     

    I'm not sure if the issue is related to it. You can check yours.

    Anonymous I never imported power pivot model in Power bI. Wondering if there is data type issue. Can you see if Power BI added a step for change data type and may be one of the column data type is not correct. I could be totally wrong here.

    Hi Anonymous ,

     

    For your issue, I don't think the size of the data caused the error. Because the article has explained the question:

     

    “A window appears, letting you select the workbook to import. There is currently no limitation on the size or number of objects in the workbook, but larger workbooks take longer for Power BI Desktop to analyze and import.”

    Please read this article carefully, which explains the limitation of importing workbook  and you can see if your data meets its limitation.

      Thanks for your reply Lionel, I have read the link carefully, I don't think my workbook contains anything outside of the scope, it is a simple workbook, it says data model including the measures, KPI etc should all able to convert to Power BI

        Hi Anonymous ,

         

        Have you solved your issue?

        I also tried to import a Power pivot model from Excel, but didn't meet any issues.

        Maybe you should check the table and the measure which were reported errors,

        or delete them, and then import the Power Pivot model again to see if there are errors.
