hierarchy in data source

hi,

 

can i create date hierarchy within the date dimension? not on the visualization

to help me drilling down when slicing from example

    Hi MP_123,

     

    According to your description, do you want to import the hierarchy built in data model? Or create the hierarchy on model level in Power BI?

     

    I assume you want to render the hierarchies like Pivot Table in Excel. Currently, we can only add custom hierarchies in visualization. It's still not supported to import existing hierarchies in data model in Power BI Desktop. For building hierarchies on model level, it will be added in next release. See: Support for Hierarchies
