Date Sorting chronologically

I am using a date table for data which is stored on a monthly basis. I need to show this data on a quarter end basis but when I use my quarter column it is sorted alphabetically not chronologically. I have inserted a date sort column to try and get around this issue but I get the following error message. Could some one help me with this issue?

  • Hi Anonymous,

You should inserte the date sort column in Query Editor mode, rather than in data view mode.

    Hi Anonymous,

If you created the QUARTER column using FORMAT function then try following:

    • Drag and Drop your DATE field into the under Values in your table chart and from date hierarchy keep Year and Quarter

That way you should be able to sort the way you want.
