I keep getting this error message, even when I add the file from my own sharepoint site... any clues?

Hi, 

 

From your screenshot, it looks you used 'Web connector '. If this is the case, try Power BI built-in connector like 'SharePoint Folder' or 'SharePoint list' as they are more reliable. 

 

If use the SharePoint Folder connector,

URL would be just the root site, like 'https://company.sharepoint.com/sites/TeamSite' and paste only the site root.

Authenticate with Organizational Account or your Microsoft 365 login, then Power BI will then let you navigate the library and pick your file.
