Data Source Error
Hello guys, hope that you are doing well.
Two days ago I got this error on a schedule refresh:
- Data source errorDataSource.NotFound: Excel Workbook: The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine. The 64-bit version of the Access Database Engine OLEDB provider may be required to read this type of file. To download the client software, visit the following site: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=285987.. Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ErrorCode = 10478. . The exception was raised by the IDbCommand interface. Table: DimChangeReason.
(It actually keeps changing the table in which the error occured)
The company wont let me install Access Database Engine OLEDB and I have seen in other posts that installing this is the solution. Has anyone faced this error and solved it with a workaround?
The data source was not edited or moved from the original folder.
Any help would be awesome!
Hi Anonymous
The error is due to the missing OLEDB provider, which your company doesn’t allow installing. If you want to stick with Excel, make sure the file is saved in the latest version. Alternatively, you can try saving it as a CSV and importing it that way.
Moving the file to OneDrive/SharePoint and connecting via the Web/File connector could also help.
Did it work? 👍 A kudos would be appreciated

Anonymous I would say that this is probably because the Access database engine is not installed on a gateway. Is it possible that the company installed a new data gateway?
