3D model in report
I'm trying to create a report which besides all the usual graphs etc also shows a 3D model of the building which the data comes from. And so when I filter and select the model reacts accordingly. But I really have no idea on how to start, I've never done something like this in Power BI before.
I found this report but have no idea on how it was done: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Data-Stories-Gallery/Power-BI-Report-Using-BIM-Model-with-VCAD-Custom-Visual/m-p/1418496#M4631
Any ideas on how to do something similar?
Thanks

amitchandak Thank you for the reply and links.
I was hoping maybe there was some "lite" version of this that doesn't have a monthly costs, like using the native Power BI visuals.
Alternatively/worst case perhaps a gallery of images corresponding to a filter?

Hi Anonymous ,
As far as I know, currently there is no bulit-in visuals in power bi to create 3D models. I would suggest you to consider third-party-cooperation visual like VCARD, although it is charged, you can try it for 10 days free.
You can also refer this similar issue: 3D lines visualization
In addition, if you want a built-in visual in power bi to create 3D models, you can submit the requirement to ideas and add your comments there to make this feature coming sooner: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas
It is a place for customers provide feedback about Microsoft Office products . What’s more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.Best Regards,

Yes, you can integrate an interactive 3D model into a Power BI report. You'd typically use the Power BI Custom Visuals SDK with JavaScript/TypeScript and a 3D library like Three.js. This lets you synchronize the model with report filters so it reacts dynamically. For an example, our IFC Viewer on AppSource demonstrates a similar approach: https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/product/power-bi-visuals/flinkergmbh1644589155747.ifc-viewer.
