Microsoft Fabric Plan Setting

The article isn't outdated. Two different things are being mixed up in this thread:

1. The old "enable Plan (preview)" switch is gone. Now that Plan is GA, whether people can create Plan items is controlled by Users can create Fabric items.
2. Plan's own governance settings still exist. The article you linked (updated Sept 2026) describes three current tenant settings:
   • Users can upgrade to a Planner session
   • Users can upgrade to a Stakeholder session
   • Show Oversubscription Warning
   The first two can be applied to the whole organization or to specific security groups. All three can be overridden per capacity through Delegated tenant settings.

If you still don't see them:

• Go to Admin portal > Tenant settings, type "Planner" or "Stakeholder" in the search box, and hard-refresh the page.
• Confirm you're signed in with the account that has the Fabric Administrator role. The Fabric Capacity Admin role only lets you edit settings that have been delegated, under Capacity settings > [your capacity] > Delegated tenant settings.
• If the settings still don't appear, they may not have rolled out to your tenant or region yet. In that case, raise a support ticket with Microsoft.

1. Once a Microsoft Fabric feature transitions from Preview to General Availability (GA), its independent tenant settings or "Preview" toggles are standardly integrated or retired.
2. When features are in Preview, Microsoft uses separate toggles to let administrators test functionalities safely without impacting the broader production environment.
3. After GA, those specific switches disappear because the feature is now considered a core part of the platform.

Plan was only toggleable in the admin portal when it was in preview. Like all other items, once they go GA they are just enabled with the "users can create Fabric items" toggle.
