Assistance for setting up real time dashboard
- Anonymous9 months ago
Dear sir,
Thank you for your prompt response and valuable suggestion. I will proceed with this approach and am hopeful that it will help resolve the issue and achieve the intended outcome.
Hi Anonymous,
Streaming semantic models are designed for low-latency dashboard tiles only and do not support tables, DAX measures, slicers, relationships, or full report creation in Power BI Desktop. Since they lack a database, they are not suitable for comprehensive reporting. For near real-time data with full reporting features, use a push (or push streaming) semantic model through the Power BI REST API. Push datasets store data in tables, making DAX, slicers, and all standard visuals available in both the service and Power BI Desktop. This allows you to pin report visuals to dashboards for near real-time updates.

Thank you😊.
Thank you for your revert, I have been using the same push REST API call, the only thing that I am concerned about is that even with this approach I cannot pin my slicers on the dashboard to switch between plots or highlight certain data. So, as a workaround I created a button to switch from dashbaord to report.
