Fabric Items throwing error with names while creating new

You can try the Fabric REST API List Items endpoint and see if it returns anything with the same name you're trying to create. If it does you know where it is failing.
Here's the link to try it. You'll need your workspace GUID, which you'll get in the browser URL when you're in your Fabric workspace.

try clearing your cache, I have seen this before in the earlier days of fabric

This error means you already have an item in workspace with similar name or you recently deleted/removed an item with similar name, most probabaly it is transient isse therefore you need to wait and retry, currently there no known issue with fabric.

It's a new workspace, with no items in it.

Please create another new workspace and make sure you are the admin of that workspace, and check if you can create the items in that workspace ?
