RLS not working on Composite Models

Hello,

I am having an issue to enable RLS on composite models.

The scenario is as follows:

1. I have a model X which I have enabled RLS and have published same Power BI Online

2. I created a Page on model X and I tested the RLS and it works fine

3. I created another model Y and I conected to Model X using Power BI datasets.

4. I built a dashboard using model Y and published same to Power BI online

5. On Power BI online I have set security on Model X i.e added the user id that can have access to the model using RLS

6. I tested the RLS using Model Y. However, I do not RLS working as it does seggregate the data as it should have done after applying RLS

Please bear in mind that at step 2 it worked when I created a dashboard directly on Model.

Is there anything I am doing wrong?

Thanks

Hi @VeemalS

As far as I am aware, it is not currently possible to use Row level security and composite models. This is because it cannot traverse multiple concert models and still enable the Row Level security. Use composite models in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
