Email alert based on underlying data in report published to service

Is there a way to have an email alert sent based on underlying data from a published report.  For example, if I have a date difference column that is the difference between the date of one field and another, can an alert be sent if the difference is a certain number.  Also, can the alert be checking the data at a specified interval.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Based on your description, it's possible. Firstly, Alerts only work with numeric data types. Alerts aren't supported for card tiles with date or time measures.

As for refreshing data at specified intervals. Alerts only work on refreshed data. When data refreshes, Power BI looks to see whether an alert is set for that data. If the data has reached an alert threshold, Power BI triggers an alert.

Hi @Anonymous

Yes it is possible. Create a carte out of that field and pin it to a Dashboard. Create your alert.
