Does power bi service scheduler calls the REST API internally?

Hi,

I have general question regarding refreshing the semantic model. whe its scheduled via the service itself per the following instrcutions:

when the schedule is triggered , does internally call the rest api to refresh using this API method?

Im just trying to understand . Its really simple question does the PBI service schduler uses the Rest API internally to trigger refresh the dataset or it uses some other mechanism?

It uses its own scheduler and algorithms.  You will notice that when you "schedule a refresh"  that's not actually what is happening. Schedules are only possible at the top and the bottom of the hour yet the actual refresh start times can be a few minutes before, a few minutes after or very much later than the scheduled time.  The internal process is smoothing all the requests out as needed.
