Hello Community,
I’m currently working with Power BI and have encountered an issue related to report navigation on mobile devices.
I have two reports:
In Report 1, I have a button that redirects to Report 2 using a URL. The issue arises when I use the Power BI mobile app: the URL opens Report 2 in the web version format instead of the mobile-optimized view.
I’ve ensured that Report 2 is designed with the Phone Layout feature in Power BI Desktop, but it still doesn’t render correctly in the mobile app.
Has anyone else experienced this issue, or can you provide any advice on how to ensure the mobile app opens the report in a mobile-friendly format?
Thank you for your help!

Hi,@soufiane_ .Thank you for your reply.
I am very sorry for giving you incorrect advice earlier.
I have summarized it below after following up with other members of the team and reviewing more information:
1.Power BI Mobile Layout can only be displayed as mobile layout in Power BI's own mobile app.
This point was also mentioned in your follow-up reply, and the official documentation has also mentioned this point.
And for the mobile browser does not have the format of mobile layout.
URL:Power BI Mobile layout is not working for the Publ... - Microsoft Fabric Community
Therefore, if you want to make sure that the open report is presented in Mobile Layout, whether it is opened directly or with a button link, you have to do it in the Power BI mobile app.
2. For power BI mobile app layout, there is a separate link format, you need to re-modify your jump link.
Hope the following article can help you
URL:
Create a link to a specific location in the Power BI mobile apps - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
3. You can also try to use the URL link of the corresponding Report2 after it is published to Power BI Service, after our team's test, it can also successfully realize the jump when you click the corresponding report link on Power BI Service in the power BI mobile app. (Please note that it is the report link on Power BI Service, not the Power BI report server)
I hope my suggestions give you good ideas, if you have any more questions, please clarify in a follow-up reply.
Best Regards,
Carson Jian,

Hi,@soufiane_ .I am glad to help you.
When accessing a report via a web URL, if you want to correctly access Reprot2 by clicking on the URL button (Report2 is modeled as a Mobile layout and has been successfully published)
And when accessing Reprot2, the report is correctly displayed as a Mobile layout, not a web layout.
Then you need to ensure the following points:
1. report2 has been successfully designed with Mobile layout.
2. The mobile-optimized report view is displayed when viewed in the Power BI mobile apps for iOS and Android.
That means, you need to access report1 on mobile and click on the URL button linking to report2 in order for the layout of report2 to display correctly as a Mobile layout.
3. Ensure that the URL is correct and that the Power BI Mobile app is up to date to avoid display errors due to version compatibility issues.
You must be accessing the report on mobile in order for the mobile layout of the report to display correctly.
Below is the official documentation and issue, hope you find it helpful.

Hi, @v-jtian-msft
Thank you for your response!
To clarify, both Report 1 and Report 2 are correctly designed and published in Power BI Report Server (PBRS) with mobile layouts, and they work well in the Power BI mobile app. However, when I click the button in Report 1 to redirect to Report 2, it opens in the web format instead of the mobile layout.
The URL I'm using for the redirect is:
https://<ServerName>/reports/powerbi/<FolderReport>/<Report2>
I want to ensure that when I click the button in Report 1, it directly opens Report 2 in the mobile layout within the Power BI mobile app, not in the web format.
Is there a way to adjust the URL or settings to achieve this?
Thank you for your help!
Hi,@soufiane_ .Thank you for your reply.
Please try the following URL?
powerbi://<ServerName>/reports/<FolderReport>/<Report2>
I'll keep an eye on your issue and let you know if I can help.
Hi, @v-jtian-msft
I tried using the URL you provided:
powerbi://<ServerName>/reports/<FolderReport>/<Report2>
but unfortunately, clicking the redirect button doesn’t take me anywhere.
Could you please check if there might be an issue with the link or if there's anything else I should be aware of?
I appreciate your assistance!
