Limit Tablix in Report Builder to show only one record

Hello,

I have a paginated report in Power BI Report Builder that uses Tablix to display a product code and a product description.  The entire report is populated based on a parameter value of the product code. In some rare but unfortunate cases, there seems to be an issue with the original dataset (which we don't control), which has the same product code with a slight description variation. For all practical purposes, it refers to the same product code. However, in those cases, the Tablix produces two rows and it causes the other report object to be pushed down, creating additional unwanted pages, etc.

Given that we only need one instance of the combination of the report code and description, we would like to limit the Tablix to only display the first record. Could you please assist on how that could be accomplished?

One approach here would be to build a TOPN restriction into your query to just return a single row. However I would also recommend building in data quality checks to your ETL routine and alerting someone to fix the raw data when these duplicates are found or these issues will cause other reporting problems down the track.
