An error occured while rendering the report. - PBI Desktop RS September 2022
Hi,
I'm experiencing a very disturbing bug in Power BI Desktop RS September 2022 version. I have a relatively simple report (compared to my other reports) yet I am constantly getting "An error occured while rendering the report." message
It starts happening when there is a change in the canvas size. I.e. when I open the Filters pane or Selection pane or change any pane size.
I've deleted all kinds of caches (in the CEF folder, ExtensionsCache, WebView2 cache) in the following two folders and also in the Desktop yet the issue reappears.
C:\Users\[myuser]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop
C:\Users\[myuser]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop SSRS
I use the Chiclet slicer custom visual. Apart from that, everything is default. I am also using Bookmarks and it seems to me that here is something to do with Bookmarks and WebView2 regarding the issue. Also, this is my first Report with the September 2022 version that has the updated Visualisation pane.
Reinstalling does not help either.
What could I do to stop this behaviour?
Thanks.
Imre

Were you able to fix it or find the root of this error? I am having the same error in July 2023.

Unfortunately, it is happening with the May 2022 Desktop, too.
My report is an Import mode report with a few calculated columns. One of the columns has special characters using UNICHAR. Apart from the calculated columns (mainly using SWITCH) all data manipulation happens in Power Query.
