Hi,
We are using aws and currently using aws cost Explorer to see the different console reports for aws cost usuage . Now, i have to build Cost and Usuage report in power bi. I have collected data but that is gigantic (almost 4M rows for only Sep 2022), also number of columns are almost 260. That is a single consolidated file opf all data and i have to create different tables from that . I found this aws documentation
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/cur/latest/userguide/cost-categories-columns.html
but i didn't find any link that could explain the relationship between the tables. . Is there anyone who has tried to built such kind of report in power bi desktop. I don't want to go with quicksight, that's why i want it to be done in power bi desktop.
Hello, yes, the AWS cost and usage report is massive and can be very complex.
If you're looking for details on the fields that are important for your analysis, check out this blog post from Strake (AWS cost management) that takes the total number of fields from >200 down to ~30.
