Here’s your chance to make your awesome story idea pay off! We’re excited to announce we’ll begin accepting entries for our biggest contest yet on January 3rd. The winning entrant will walk away with an amazing prize.
Put your Power BI skills to work developing an interactive visualization of something that happened in 2017 for the “Power BI Year in Review” contest, an initiative from the Microsoft Data Journalism Program. The topic can be anything, serious or silly; it could be business, health, safety, science or sports data, or maybe something about pop culture, fashion, or ice cream flavors. Whatever you like – the key criterion is that your story relates to 2017.
Tell your story using non-proprietary data and beautiful Power BI data visualizations that you can share in the public Power BI Data Stories Gallery. Judges will score entries on how interesting the story is, the insights you uncover, clarity of design, composition and interactive function, and the integrity of your data.
We’ll select a single grand prize winner from the reports submitted. Please note that all submissions will be used by Microsoft for research and to improve our products and services. Additionally, they may even be amplified or published more broadly, either by Microsoft or in the media.
The grand prize is bigger than anything we’ve given away before, so stay tuned for updates. We’ll post the official contest announcement and rules on January 3rd.
