Meet the Power BI Community Super Users (Datanauts)

Hey, Power BI Fans!

Check out the current Power BI Community Super User roster below! If you're not aware of the Power BI Community Super User program, read more about it here! This group of folks has given back to this community at a rate that has earned them the recognition of being a Super User, and we think calling them out in a post like this is the least we can do! This list is subject to change every 6 months when new folks are brought into the program and removed from the program.

BAPete.jpg
@BA_Pete
Pete is an accountant by trade, but now specialises in business intelligence. Following years of trying to get people to understand what the hell he was on about when it came to numbers, he quickly realised that pictures work best. He has around 15 years of technical Excel and Visual Basic experience, and around 4 years experience of developing BI via Cognos Analytics, earned whilst working in Commercial Finance for £650m hospitality company in the UK.
Whilst only having used Power BI since around March 2019, Pete transitioned very quickly from Excel formulas to DAX and has developed a greater interest in Power Query. He tends to try and solve as many problems as possible using M code to keep processing away from the data model.
When he's not working or trying to manage his twin girls, Pete builds and crashes freestyle quads.

@mussaenda
I am using Power BI more than a year now since I started working in a manufacturing company in Dubai, UAE.
Also giving Power BI support to our headquarter located in Milan, Italy which has 4 different plants. (www.ltc-group.com) It never crossed my mind that I will be analysing data today as I have never encountered any programs like Power BI from my past. I enjoy learning Power Query a lot than DAX. It gives me satisfaction everytime I do ETL / data manipulation. I took a training and accomplished the 70-778 exam. I am aiming to pass the DA-100 exam soon. I am from Philippines, wandering in Dubai, UAE.

At Linkedin, I have released numerous video trainings on Excel, but also on Power BI Desktop - basics and for advanced ones. AntrikshSharma.jpg
@AntrikshSharma
I come from a non technical background, Started learning PBI in 2017 and nothing made sense to me, then had an on-off relationship with it for next 2 years primarily because I didn't understand DAX or PQ at all ( Excel formula geeks would understand my point ), and then back in September 2019 I took things seriously and started again with DAX and after studying only DAX for next 8-10 months I realized that it is now time to give back to the community because not everyone really wants to invest time in understanding everything deeply and that's fine because when I need a solution for something I may not want to learn everything, but since I did invest so much time in DAX and I realized a lot of people ( just like I was in 2017 ) are only looking for a solution but are struggling with the core concepts, I am here helping them by sharing my knowledge.

DebbieE.jpg

@DebbieE
My name is Debbie Edwards and I’m passionate about Business Intelligence and how it can take data to the next level. I love to be in a role where I can really pull everything together in an environment that supports actively creating and delivering intelligence using the best technologies available. I have been working within Business Intelligence for over 17 years and have delivered many projects, including Business Process Re-Engineering A&E Systems for Hammersmith Hospitals, NHS Data Migrations, Derbyshire Disabilities, Special Educational Needs and Social Care Complaints, Trading Standards and Stakeholder Engagement Portals for public sector organizations.
In my current role at Peak Indicators I’ve been able to indulge my Business Intelligence ‘hobby’ to the max. Its here where I have moved from On Premises Microsoft Business Intelligence to all the latest cloud based Technologies. I currently get the opportunities to work with Power BI and Azure. Suddenly, so many new BI Opportunities were open to me. I’ve created Reports and dashboards for companies in the utilities industries and for Local Authorities in the UK. I’ve also given many talks on Power BI with the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership and East Midlands Chamber through Peak. I also run Power BI workshops. As far as I’m concerned, no matter how long you have been in the Business Intelligence industry there is still lots to learn.

Currently residing in Massachusetts, USA after living in many places around the world. Working in Sales Operations of a midsize company, providing business decision support and driving Power BI adoption. Proud to be called "such an annoying engineer", with a background in automation, system theory and general laziness. Not so much interested in Power BI, more in the general place (and value) BI tools have in society. Lover of long words like "Technikfolgenabschätzung" and short phrases like "cui bono". Trying to learn as much as possible from the community, and giving back when possible. Looking forward to what "The Next Question" will be.

chrismendoza.jpg
@ChrisMendoza
Chris Mendoza works as a Mail Services Supervisor at California State University, Chico. Around eight years ago when he started in his current position, he was asked one simple question, "How many packages did we receive this year compared to last year?". After spending too much time on that one question, Chris began learning how he could use Excel to answer that question faster. Always looking to learn and improve, Chris eventually began learning how to use DAX and Power Query within Power BI to solve many work-related projects. Chris tends to focus on process bottleneck's that prevent people from accomplishing their task accurately and quickly using any "tool" that will get the job done.
