Below is an issue a fair few people are facing. I'm not sure it's been raised so i'm raising / re-raising. All be-it there's cira 16 replies, maybe more people are facing this issue? Many of us are refusing to update from Feb Desktop version being scared that reports will fail. Is there any chance this could be reviewed? https://theleadagency.atlassian.net/jira/software/c/projects/BI/boards/242?assignee=61eac1b2fd5a690068ec53ed&assignee=unassigned&issueParent=21047%2C27478%2C27479%2C28084%2C28304%2C29273%2C31428%2C31670%2C34226%2C35736&atlOrigin=eyJpIjoiN2M3MzJlYzFlZjYxNDM2NjhlOGExMjVkYzVmMDU0ZjYiLCJwIjoiaiJ9

Good Day, Occassionally I filter tables using a Table View to copy filtered results to use outside of Power BI - I.E. in Excel. As of today it appears that when copying the Table View that has been filtered, it ignores the filters and copies the whole table. This is an issue for me as when I have a table in excess of 700,000 rows it makes this process extremely slow to copy from Power BI, and near impossible to paste it into Excel. I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? As an example, we are a service company and we have a geographic alignment for our field service team. Simply, filtering a table by the "East" Region and trying to copy the table when filtered to the East is not working. Instead, the entire table is copied.

I have found that the "Recent sources" menu in Power BI Desktop is not working (at least not as I expected), steps to replicate the issue: Open Power BI Desktop Click on "Get Data" Get data from any data source (In my example a Snowflake connection) and load it into Power BI Desktop Click on “Recent sources” in the “Home” section of the ribbon. The “Most recent” displays the Snowflake connection as expected. Click on “More…” The “Recent Sources” modal dialog is displayed showing the new connection. Save the .pbix file. Close Power BI Desktop Open Power BI Desktop & load the previous pbix file Click on “Recent Sources”. PBI Desktop displays a the “Recent Sources” modal MINUS the new connection... Hi, Note: Issue noticed in unreleased July 2025 edition of PBI Desktop. I m using Field Parameters on Rows of the Matrix and trying to provide dynamic selection for the users. However, the functionality stops after making slicer selection a couple of times and expand/ drill down buttons no longer works. For the selection as shown in snapshot below, I would expect the user to expand and see Col2 and Col3 in the matrix visual. However. no matter how many times you click, its not possible to expand. It is not dependent on the order of selection of columns or layout configuration in use. Request you to address the issue ASAP. Sample PBIX is available at the below link: Test/Test Matrix.pbix at main · modi123p/Test Thanks & Regards, Madan Prabhakara

PLEASE fix the authentication / MFA procedure. - Open PowerBi Desktop, click sign-in, it asks for my email address. MFA dialog pops up, and again, asks for my email address. Why can't this be streamlined?! - I authenticate, then the MFA dialog appears. I grab my phone, enter the code, enter my password, click okay... then, another MFA dialog appears... I grab my phone, enter my password, click okay... this happens three times, for every report that I have open, at random times throught the day (if I have 3 reports open, that's 9 times i need to grab my phone, enter passcode etc etc)! - The MFA dialog (as well as some other dialogs) often appear hidden behind windows and there is no way to bring it to the front. The only way to authenticate is to ctrl+alt+delete, hope i've saved (often not), authenticate and keep going. - There is no way to close the MFA dialog without authenticating. If I close it, it just opens straight back up again. If I work on a report that does not require authentication, I still have to authenticate to move forward. If my account is disabled overnight (yes, has happened), then I need to find an account that does let me authenticate so I can use your software. The webview2 authentication model is broken. I have already spoken to support about this, spent many hours setting up test data, reproducing the issue, demonstrating the issue to support. I am on the latest version (June 2025). Kind regards, Ben.

I have been troubleshooting this for a week now. When launching BI either by running the BI Desktop application or by trying to open an existing datamodel I get the following error. Prior to the error BI hard locked and could not recover. Waited for 45 minutes and had to kill the process to get it to shutdown. Afterwards this started to happen. AS Process PID=XXXXXX Has exited with ExitCode = 0 This dialog appears twice in succession then kills the app. NOTE: This has also happened on one of our IT administrators sytems where BI had NOT had the proccess killed, just tried to launch the application and seeing the same issue. This is not enterprise wide, and has only happened a few machines, and does not appear to be related to current local user profile. Troubleshooting performed: Uninstalled and reinstalled BI Two versions (the last version and the one released 06-05-2025) hard restart between uninstall and reinstall Uninstalled and reinstalled the .net framework hard restart between uninstall and reinstall Verified all Windows updates are current Deleted all folders and files I could find related to the BI isntall Deleted all registry keys related to BI Install Created a new user profile and installed to the new profile, same issue created a MS Sandbox and installed there, different issue (Faield to authenticate). Yes the sandbox had internet access and firewall disabled. Checked System Event logs: no info Ran DISM & SFC check and no issues found. I look forward to hearing your suggestions, I would prefer to not have to wipe my machine and start over. Kind regards, Jason crash log from BI below. Feedback Type:

Hello, for the past few days we have noticed on the Home Page of Power BI that the App's icons in the “Recommended” section are stretched and do not respect the proportion ratio (see screenshot below). On the other hand, the App image is correctly displayed in the App list page (see screenshot below). Can you help me understand what the problem is? Regards -- Gianluca Pinelli

Refreshes are suddenly failing where they've been set up by users through a gateway, with the following error appearing: ServerError_DMTS_MonikerDatasourcesNotFoundErrorCode And going into the gateway to reset them, the users are getting the following message. Users do have access and permission to the gateways, but only Admins seem to be able to reset the gateways now. This is resulting in numerous refresh failures, and started happening either late yesterday or early today.

Since the May release, any native query using a Snowflake Connector v2.0 connection experiences boolean type conversion errors on refresh. let
Source = Snowflake.Databases("<snowflake account url>","<warehouse name>",[Implementation="2.0"]),
data = Value.NativeQuery(
Source{[Name = "<database name>",Kind="Database"]}[Data],
"select false as v union all select true as v"
, null
, [EnableFolding = true]
)
in
data The preview in Power Query is fine, but the error is presented when dataset is refreshed. Additionally, converting the datatype in power query doesn't work. I suspect a workaround will be to convert the data to 1,0 values either in the snowflake query or via a text step in powerquery This seems to be, though, to be an unintended and relatively serious breaking change.

Hi everyone, We're currently running the latest version of Power BI (x64) on Windows 11 ARM, using Parallels 20 on an Apple M4 Pro Mac. I was recently assigned to work on a Power BI dashboard that works flawlessly (10/10 times) on my colleague's standard Windows machine. The data loads fine and refreshes without any errors on both systems. However, we noticed a critical issue: Any visual that includes a Date field filter fails to load on my ARM-based setup. No meaningful error message is shown upon clicking the detailed error (empty line, char indicator) — the visual simply doesn't render, but does upon removing the date releated filter. We attempted to: Recreated the visuals and relationships Adjusted regional and locale settings Confirmed the dataset integrity and formatting Tested across different Date fields and visuals We're now suspecting that this issue is related to ARM architecture compatibility, possibly with how Power BI handles datetime rendering or underlying libraries. Has anyone else experienced this issue on Apple Silicon M4 with Parallels or any other ARM-based setup? Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Content managers/Custom Roles are now unable to see the "Scheduled Refresh" menu under Manage for reports. As an admin i can see the button and see the schedules as normal but the AD group covering all my "Standard Users" which fixed the issue in Jan version doesnt work at all now in May 2. The only thing thats changed is updating versions, no backend role changes etc as i've double checked the values for "manage model" etc are all ticked as they were previously. Please be aware that I have identified a bug or compability issue with Power BI Desktop (versions starting with March 2025 and after) that present as very odd behavior when run under the latest version Parallel's Desktop Pro Edition v20.3.0 (55895) virtual machine (Windows 11 Pro v24H2, build 26100.3915, 16 GB RAM) on a MacBook Pro (M4 Pro Apple Silicon chip). I have created a simplified test PBIX file with one static date table that displays a broken visual in the newer PBI versions when one uses the Advanced Filter option under the filter pane. If one replaces the Advanced filter with a Basic filter option to filter the same visual, the visual displays fine. When one clicks the See details from the broken visual they get the following dialog. Broken visual details dialog This buggy behavior is not present in the February 2025 released version of the PBI app (run under Parallels Desktop virtual machine) or in more recent versions that are run on a physical PC. I have created a brand new, very simple data model with a single table "Sales Invoices". This table is sourced from the business central connector. *I experienced this issue in a much larger model, but have created a new one to ensure the issue is not caused by anything else in the model. If I then create a table visual and place the quantity field, it will give me a summary of the quantity for the whole table. Everything looks good. If I add a filter (to any level, visual/page/report) on the posting date, very strange things start happening. With basic filtering, I can select any number of dates that exist in the table, and the table visual will correctly sum the quantity for those dates and display it. If I change the filter to advanced, and "is" some date that I know data exists (3 feb 2025) I get but, if I add "is on or before" any date in the future (thereby not filtering anything) and include the same criteria as above as an "and" in the filter, it works. I have been trying to figure it out for hours and am having no luck. I have already - Created a new data model and replicated the issue - uninstalled and reinstalled powerbi desktop - adjusted the query to explicitly set the posting date field to date (it was already coming across as a date field) - checked all locale settings I am running PowerBI on a Parallels VM, but I have never had a problem with this for years.

Hello, I'm encountering an issue where visuals in my report crash whenever I apply a date filter. To isolate the problem, I tested it in a new blank report with just a simple table visual (containing one column) and a slicer using a date field. As soon as I use the date filter, the table visual fails to render and displays the following error: An unexpected error occurred (file "", line, function ""). This seems to happen consistently. Could someone please advise or help troubleshoot this issue? Thank you!
