Power BI Desktop to Snowflake authentication

Although Power BI Desktop has the option for users to provide the role name for connecting to Snowflake, it give authentication error message when any other role than the default role of the user is provided.

Users should be able to connect to Snowflake from Power BI desktop specifying any role name that is assigned to the user in Snowflake.

Hi @Durlov

If you can make sure other account can access the Snowflake DB directly , you can choose the Snowflake and enter other credentials .

You shouldn't need to specify the Snowflake Role.  However, check that the Snowflake User record must have a Default Role Assigned that has been granted priviledges on the the database you are connecting to.
