Out of memory for query result error in PBI Desktop

Hello Guys,

I work for a startup in CA, USA.

We house our data in amazon redshift instance in star schema structure and build power bi on top of it. We sell this Power Bi dashboards as a service to client.
However for one of the client for its instance, we are having out of memory error for one of its table load. I tried clearing the cache , increasing the limit to 16000, but none of these work. Can you please help me in trouble shooting this? Thanks Screenshot_2.jpg

Hi  @Gandhar09

Is your installation of Desktop 32-bit or 64-bit ?  You mentioned that one of the client for its instance had the error when loaded its table , so other clients are loaded successfully ?

Also for this type of issue, it may be related to how the data model is created in Power BI. To debug this, do the following.

  1. Download and install Dax Studio
  2. Create a blank report page in the Power BI report and save the desktop file with this page open/selected
  3. Close all Power BI desktop sessions
  4. Start the Power BI desktop again and open only this report Keep it on a blank page
  5. Start DAX Studio and connect it to the problematic Power BI Desktop text

Hi v-yetao1-msft

Thanks for replying.

Installation of Desktop is 64bit.

yes, for other instances of our clients i'm able to refresh the data. But because the size of the table is big for this instance (as this client has lot of data) , it gets me - out of memory error.

I'm able to download, install dax studio. I was also able to establish a connection.

So whats next after this? How will dax studio help me resolve this issue?
Do i have to run any queries?

Thanks,
