Format Visual not available on Power Bi Free Version

Morning all,

Can anyone help me please.  I'm using the PowerBi free version pulling data from a List on M365.  Previously I was able to format the visuals and this seems to have been removed.

I've tried creating a new visual but it seems to be completely removed.  Any advice would be greatly received.

What kind of visual are you adding and what data source are you using? Did you successfully add the data from the data source to PBI Desktop?PBI Desktop itself is free, there is no charge for PBI Desktop, the free you mentioned should be your account. But even if the account itself is free, you can still use visual and format visual normally. 

So what you need to make sure is that you have successfully added the data to Desktop and that you have added the appropriate fields in the visual .

We have the same issue for our Embedded to our Customers situation. Its not possible to see, select or edit elements in the Format Visual pane, like the screenshot shared in the original message. This is not an issue in PBI Desktop, but in embedded only. 

I dont see this issue in PBI Service, for our internal reports.

This has ofcourse a lot of impact for the 400 organisations that use our solution.

Same issue also appearing in the playground.powerbi.com environment:

Same issue on our side with the embedded application. No code/report changes on our side and this was working fine. In the app.powerbi.com environment this is working.

Seems to be broken on all reports and multiple customers are needing this functionality. And as mentioned by @ChrisBI91, reproducible in the playground. @v-yetao1-msft Could you confirm this is an issue within PowerBI embedded?

Same here!  In embedded environment, click on any visual, then click the "Format your visual" icon, and the Format panel is empty.  This was working fine on Friday (4 days ago).

Same issue here in the UK affecting 400+ customers using our embedded reporting solution.

Same here!  In embedded environment, click on any visual, then click the "Format your visual" icon, and the Format panel is empty. It's the same for all reports, all workspaces, all visuals we tried.

We have seen on the internal platform that other engineers have reported this issue and submitted it.  

The engineers on the product team are now aware and will do their best to resolve the issue. I will update here if there is any progress, so please be patient!
