Enable DirectLake connection in Power BI Desktop

ISSUE

Power BI Service (PBIS) experience is inferior to Power BI Desktop (PBID). Therefore either upgrade the PBIS to parity with PBID so that users can enjoy the same nice feature set in the Service when creating reports that need leveraging DirectLake

 

OR

 

support DirectLake connections in PBID for report datasource, so that once published to the Service, the report can leverage DirectLake instead of DirectQuery.
